The Literacy Impact Advocate helps schools, after-school programs, and churches strengthen their literacy culture through creativity, student publishing opportunities, and Texas Education Agency (TEA)-aligned writing workshops. This mission-driven role centers on building authentic relationships that open doors for children and families to experience programs designed to inspire confidence, faith, and a lifelong love for reading and writing.


As an independent contractor (1099), the Advocate enjoys creative freedom in outreach while representing the heart of Franklin the Helper® Children’s Books, LLC across the Dallas–Fort Worth area.


Both part-time and full-time opportunities are available.

  • Research and connect with private schools, charter schools, after-school programs, and churches within the DFW area (assigned territories). 
  • Conduct initial outreach via phone and email using approved scripts and materials. 
  • Present program details clearly and persuasively to help schools and organizations understand the value of partnering with Franklin the Helper®. 
  • Guide interested contacts through the decision-making process to secure confirmed program bookings and partnership agreements. 
  • Schedule meetings between decision-makers and Franklin the Helper® leadership when needed to finalize collaborations. 
  • Log all outreach activity, notes, and lead status in the company’s CRM. 
  • Provide weekly progress updates and participate in team check-ins. 
  • Follow the assigned territory plan and maintain positive, professional communication at all times. 
  • Represent Franklin the Helper® with integrity, enthusiasm, and mission alignment. 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the mission and programs of Franklin the Helper®.

Qualifications

  •  2+ years of experience in commission-driven sales strongly preferred; business development background a plus.
  • Strong community involvement within the past 5 years, such as active participation in churches, youth programs, education initiatives, or volunteer organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet goals independently while maintaining consistent communication.
  •  Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  •  Comfortable with cold calling, presentations, and closing opportunities.
  • Organized, self-motivated, and driven by purpose.
  • Associate degree preferred or demonstrated experience in outreach, education, or program coordination.
