The Summer Camp Children's Book Writing Workshop is a week-long fun and interactive enrichment activity where Franklin will help 5th grade through 12th grade youth write their own children's book. The participants will have the option to publish their book! Can you imagine the youth in your life becoming a young AUTHOR?  Summer Camp is May 29 - Aug 30, with workshops starting each week.
 

During the workshop, Franklin teaches participants the steps and how to write a children's book as well as the process to publish a book! Throughout each session, Franklin will share his personal tips and strategies used when writing his books.

This cool opportunity gives participants a chance to exercise or discover their creativity while learning from a 8-time published author and entrepreneur! Moreover, an adult 18 or older is welcome to accompany the participant free of charge, to collaborate with their participant on writing the book (a great opportunity to spend quality time together).

What is the focus of the workshop aside from writing a book? In alignment with the focus of the Franklin the Helper collection of books, the workshop is intended to build participant’s self-confidence and self-motivation. Writing is an expressive form of communication that can aid in the development of social and emotional learning and awaken a creative mind.

Duration: 2 1/2-hour activity, Mon-Fri

Location: Franklin Books inside The Shops at Willow Bend Mall     

Fee: $120 per participant,

5th - 12th grade, participants are grouped by grade level

We are hosting multiple open opportunities for children and adults to attend the Children's Book Writing Workshop, outside of summer camp. 

 This Children's Book Writing Workshop is an opportunity for anyone, including adults to attend the workshop outside of summer camp. Participants will have fun, while receiving interactive and practical information. Franklin will help 5th grade through adults write their own children's book. The participants will have the option to publish their book!

Question: What's better than storytime with books being read by the author? Answer: The author being accompanied by Billy the Bear mascot! 

This dynamic duo is loved by children and adults alike! During storytime, Franklin will read his books to the children while Billy sits with the children and enjoy storytime as well. Participants are welcome to bring their favorite book for Franklin to read!

 After reading the story, the children will have an opportunity to take pictures with Franklin and Billy. Franklin will also sign all purchased books!
